 Mark Spahr, Bench Jeweler |
If you have had jewelry repaired or designed at Herzog’s since 2004, it may well have come through the hands of resident craftsman, Mark Spahr. Before working at Herzog’s, Mark honed his skills and expanded his knowledge of jewelry for 16 years as a bench jeweler at Tiffany Jewelers in Xenia, Ohio, and through a number of seminars and workshops.
At its heart, jewelry building and repair is still an ancient art, requiring a dexterous hand, keen eye, and a facility with the same tools that have been used for hundreds of years. Mark’s artistry in all of these areas is a natural fit with Herzog’s commitment to service and quality.
Mark is also an experienced musician, playing piano and keyboards for more than 40 years. As further testament to his innate drive to do meticulous work with his hands, Mark enjoys crafting small airplane replicas from tissue paper and struts hand-hewn from balsa wood. |
 Janet Estep, Office Manager |
Janet has been part of the Herzog team since 2000. She handles everything from answering phones to processing and inspecting repair orders, managing paper work, purchasing, and sales.
With years of experience, she has the insight to offer customers a unique perspective on what makes Herzog’s the best value for their dollar and is proud to work for a business that stands firmly behind every piece that is sold or repaired.
A former school teacher and tutor, Janet now enjoys, in her spare time, volunteering as a docent at the Dayton Art Institute and collecting antiques with her husband.

 Gracie Lou, The Pug
|
Gracie is our Executive in charge of First Impressions. She may not have as many certificates on her wall as Ted, but she is certainly qualified to be Top Dog at Herzog’s. It comes naturally to her. The couriers adore her and clients love her, especially the children who are well entertained for the duration of their visit.
Gracie the pug came into the Herzog family as a gift to Ted’s daughter on Valentine’s Day in 2006. Gracie began her visits to Herzog’s in 2007 and quickly became a full-time staff member.
Come to Herzog’s and meet Gracie Lou —feel the love and acceptance known only by those to whom she brings her toy “bear.” And while you’re at it, talk with those other wonderful personalities — Janet, Mark and Ted, and learn why you should make it a point to visit Herzog's Jewelry before you make a jewelry purchase anywhere else.
